Sad departure of a 30yo female rider in traffic accident .... RIP

Many bikers appear not to care for their own safety judging by the way they weave in and out of traffic, even creating their own lane in between the designated lanes. This makes switching lanes hazardous for both drivers and bikers. The problem is almost zero enforcement by the TP.

true. bikers should always be mindful of their own safety. accidents cannot be prevented but it can be minimized. in many instances, bikers contribute to the problem by riding dangerously. the way they weave in and out of traffic seems as though they don't value their lives. or maybe they don't... i dunno.

Are you buying in SG now?
My kids are grown and they have their own cars.
Now wouldn't be a good time to buy a car. It's also a no-no to buy cars on loans.
Save up your money and wait for the next recession. The COE may drop substantially but knowing how PAP likes to cheat, they may pull a fast one just like what KBW did during COVID.

But having said all these, I'd like to thank the Malaysian riders and families for their sacrifice.
Without them, I wouldn't know where to get a replacement liver, kidney, heart or whatever if I need it in the future.

Ahhhhh….tiongkok can be a good sauce as long as u pay enough

been riding for close to 50 years and countless minor accidents, not many females have situation awareness, they are simply not built to be bikers, they see on social media how cool it is to ride. but the reality is motobikes in spore especially during peak hours are damn fucking dangerous with all the cement mixers and lorries rushing around like mad dogs........
That's what u get when u cramped 7 to 8 million people in a small island and evryone thinks his or her own time is most precious. Lorry drivers and vans esp those FT are the shittiest . U see them speeding like heck care it not my lorry and only a few weeks jail if they killed someone like that law professor who was killed by the worst CECA bastard. LTA heck care. Only worry coe would not increase. Motorcyslists are alos idiots . U see them speed like rushing to hell . Everyone is damn selfish nowadays.

Thank God I quit riding more than 2 decades ago, else the more you ride, one fine day sure GG.

Better avoid riding once you can afford a car. Car is Ti Bao Lang (metal wrap body) while bike is Lang Bao Ti (flesh wrap metal) LOL.

Motorcyclists have a significantly higher risk of fatal accidents than car occupants, with some studies showing they are up to 28 times more likely to die per mile traveled. This is largely due to a lack of structural protection, like airbags and seatbelts, which are standard in cars, and can lead to more severe injuries like head trauma and fractures in a crash.

Key statistics
  • Higher fatality rate:
You are approximately 28 times more likely to die in a motorcycle crash than in a car crash, based on a comparison of fatality rates per vehicle mile traveled.

  • Higher injury risk:
Motorcyclists have a four times higher risk of injury in an accident compared to car passengers.
  • Lack of protection:
Motorcycles do not have the structural integrity, airbags, or seatbelts that cars have, making riders much more vulnerable in an impact.

  • Common causes:
Accidents are often caused by other drivers failing to see the motorcycle, with a high percentage involving cars turning left into an oncoming motorcycle.

  • Severity of injuries:
When a crash does occur, the risk of severe injury is higher for motorcyclists, with common injuries including head injuries, complex fractures, and spinal damage.
Why the difference exists
  • Protective shell:
Cars offer a protective shell and safety features that significantly increase the chances of survival in a crash.

  • Vulnerability:
Motorcycles leave the rider exposed to the elements and road hazards, and a rider can be easily ejected from the vehicle in a collision.

  • Visibility:
Other drivers are not always aware of motorcycles on the road, making it more likely for them to misjudge the motorcyclist's speed or position, leading to accidents.
