SINGAPORE – The police are investigating after the body of a 69-year-old man was recovered from the Singapore River on the morning of Nov 13.

In response to queries from The Straits Times, the police said they received a call for help at about 9am. The body was found floating in the waters off Queen Elizabeth Walk, they said.

Queen Elizabeth Walk is a promenade nestled within Esplanade Park.


The police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF)paramedic.

The police added that based on preliminary investigations, they do not suspect foul play.

The case is believed to have been classified as anunnatural death.
