Rest in Peace: Another P6 student committed suicide

Sinkie parents should not push their children to excel because their children will never amount to much in life anyway.

A few years ago, my child told me that his junior in Sec 1 ended his life; he couldn't get over his PSLE grades.

Today, i read about another case, a P6 student who committed suicide at home.

In many countries, they ceased elementary/primary school exams, including South Korea.

Yet, in Singapore, our new PSLE grading system added more stress to the students. During my times, we could use a stronger subject to offset a weaker subject to pull up the average T-score. Now, our new PSLE scoring system punishes student exponentially for subjects that they are weak at.

RIP to the child, hope you are in a better place now.

Kids like this are better off gone because if they cannot handle the stress of failure at that age there is no way they are going to survive what life throws at them in adulthood anyway.

All the so-called GenZ Gen this Gen that woke nonsense is creating a whole generation of imbeciles who just cannot accept that failure is part and parcel of life, what works here doesn't mean it works elsewhere, retard sinkies should broaden their minds

As a responsible parent, if you have not managed to bring your problem kid out of the Sinkie system by now, you have failed. 64,000 of us in Australia. What is this parent doing?!

MOE made exams more stressful for kids because we are like farm animals. To get the best produce, some tortured to death is ok

I'm not a parent.
If I'm a parent, I will focus to lookout my child personality and skills, instead on academic.
I will not give my child any tuition (even if they are free) whether they are poor or average or strong academically.
I strongly believes that the time spent in school is enough. If my child is willing to learn, in school is enough.
I will then monitor his academic, together with his personality and skills and guide him to pursue the correct path.
Mee too
