If your child can means can, cannot means cannot. Just give full opportunity the rest is up to the child.
A few years ago, my child told me that his junior in Sec 1 ended his life; he couldn't get over his PSLE grades.
Today, i read about another case, a P6 student who committed suicide at home.

In many countries, they ceased elementary/primary school exams, including South Korea.
Yet, in Singapore, our new PSLE grading system added more stress to the students. During my times, we could use a stronger subject to offset a weaker subject to pull up the average T-score. Now, our new PSLE scoring system punishes student exponentially for subjects that they are weak at.
RIP to the child, hope you are in a better place now.
Mee tooI'm not a parent.
If I'm a parent, I will focus to lookout my child personality and skills, instead on academic.
I will not give my child any tuition (even if they are free) whether they are poor or average or strong academically.
I strongly believes that the time spent in school is enough. If my child is willing to learn, in school is enough.
I will then monitor his academic, together with his personality and skills and guide him to pursue the correct path.
