Should the country consider euthanasia as an option for end of life elderly care?
Serious DiscussionThis topic might offend quite a lot of people but this is something that has crossed my mind considering that our current population is aging rapidly.
Many cases of the elderly committing suicide or finding a way to get out of their current situation due to health or medical issues seem to be rising. Today there is also a news coverage on how neighbours should take note if they haven't seen their elderly neighbour in recent times.
Should the government actually consider giving the elderly some form of dignity in dying and allowing them to choose this option as a last resort?
I'm not talking about people with gambling debts or who are clinically depressed but rather people with terminal conditions, such as rapidly losing their bodily functions and not being able to care for themselves.
