Are people underestimating the risks of FWB / casual intimacy in Singapore?

Question Pod

People do casual stuff all the time — uni dorms, poly, JC, dating apps, etc. We always talk about STDs and protection, but I feel like people don’t think enough about the downside risk of FWB / casual intimacy in SG.

For example, what if during the process the girl party naturally catches feelings, but the other doesn’t want to commit and pulls away? Emotions can turn things ugly. Even if everything was consensual at the time, what if SA accusations towards the guy are made later and your life gets put on hold?

Does this risk apply only to FWB/situationships, or do unofficial bf–gf relationships (no label, but acting like a couple) face similar risks too? Can a gf accuse a bf of SA if they break up badly?
