台南知名大東夜市傳出可能熄燈消息，不少民眾直呼可惜，直說攤商該何去何從，要重新找回夜市商機也不容易，但夜市周遭住戶長年因垃圾亂丟及收攤噪音備受困擾。其實會傳出夜市收攤消息，是因為土地在都市重劃後屬於機關用地，目前由台南市政府和農會共有，雖然雙方初步同意讓大東夜市繼續經營，不過要繼續作為營利用的夜市，恐怕還要找適合法源來處理。
