If one looks at life in terms of number of dollars made, national day awards, GLC directorships, club memberships, fast cars, nice home in Sentosa, fancy holidays abroad, then Dr Lim hasn't gone far there. He probably could have had it if he craved for it like other folk. But it seems he was made of sterner stuff.
In terms of the admirable traits of the human spirit, then it's quite different. Did his part to help poor and sick. Never compromised integrity, dignity and grace under the most trying of situations. RIP.
