The cheongsam, a one-piece Chinese traditional outfit that was once used only by Chinese women, can now be seen worn on other ethnic races. Even celebrities such as Jang Eun Jung and Jang Nara have been seen wearing them, says STOMPer CheongAhhh!.
The STOMPer said in her email:
"As the Chinese Lunar New Year beckons, it's time for ladies to don the cheongsam, or 'qipao'.
"Epitome of the feminine beauty? Indeed, more than just a dress, the cheongsam brings about a special attitude to the festive mood in the air.
"The traditional one-piece, form-fitting dress is either made of silk, brocade, velvet or fabric and is increasingly the obsession of women of all nationalities.
"Stars like Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman, Paris Hilton and many other Asian celebrities like Korean Jang Nara, or Japanese star Ayumi Hamasaki have been seen wearing the cheongsam too.
"Here are some photos of actresses decked out in cheongsams.
"Over the years, qipao styles have indeed evolved to look 'untraditional', so as to stay relevant in the entertainment scene as well. 'Timeless fashion' indeed.
"Take your pick here!"
