Me too, not going to buy a boat.
I am a sea fishing guy so it is better to rent boats as the tekongs there know all the good spots. Maybe I will buy a 20 plus footer for coastal fishing but the TOP of Encorp is only in 2016.

Agreed with you don't spend much time with the boat/yacht, it's a mistress you know, it needs TLC.

Thank you everyone for the congratulatory greetings. I still feel its a little too early. will be meeting up with the lawyer and banker soon. keeping my fingers crossed that they are professional.

lets do beer one day when everything is up and running. I will buy the beer and u guys can supply the gals. and we can discuss my second career writing children's books with a sexy element. but I would have to create a new nick. I hafta stay anonymous. got too many skeletons in the closet.

Property buying in Malaysia is so much different than in Singapore..
In singapore.. lawyer service very professional and swift. Bank loan application approved wothin days. I hardly need to congratulate my friend when they went to lawyer's firm to sign documents..

Right here in Malaysia. . SAP take months to arrive.. Loan take weeks to approve.. we really need to celebrate the occasions when these critical milestones arrived.

so its a fact. one can be jubilant abt receiving a belated spa or even when their investment reached 6th floor? heard abt such thing but only experiencing it personally now. sigh but its worthwhile if we cant find anything to celebrate! btw it happens in kl too. my bro in law sold his condo since middle of last year but still holding on to a downpayment only. i will tell him to just celebrate.

Since I'll only be using it as a weekend home till my children finish their schooling years in Sg or until they improve the customs jams, I actually don't mind if they delay the completion for another 2-3 years while collecting the 10% pa. late delivery penalty. Better than renting out. Ha ha!

EXPRESS Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL), controlled by YTL Corp Bhd, wants to embark on new rail projects such as the highspeed rail (HSR) linking Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, boosting its portfolio.

Chief executive officer (CEO), Noormah Mohd Noor said the company is ready to help the government develop an intelligent rail infrastructure here.

ERL has a 30-year concession to operate the KLIA Express and KLIA Transit on the railway line between KL Sentral in Brickfields and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

For the HSR link, a consortium, led by YTL, will be formed to bid for the project. The consortium will comprise key players either from Europe, Japan or China, Noormah told Business Times yesterday, at the Rail Business Asia 2013 conference here.

"We are waiting for the government to call for tenders. As a rail operator, ERL will operate the HSR line while YTL will undertake the civil works. For rolling stocks and systems work, we will get foreign experts.

"We are open to negotiations with foreign companies from Spain, China and Japan as far as the systems portion is concern. We are evaluating the suitability of the system," Noormah said.

Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) CEO Mohd Nur Ismal Mohamed Kamal said negotiations between both the governments of Malaysia and Singapore for the implementation of the HSR link will start next month.

He expects tenders to be called between June and December next year and construction to commence in 2015.

"The HSR will be a good link between Malaysia and Singapore. It will spur economic activities along the corridor.

"I believe Malaysia is ready to undertake the project. As a consortium, we will fund a majority of the works," Noormah said.

I think e land acquisition is e most difficult part. It might delay e entire project like e oil refinery hub in Johor.

I have got a unit in Encorp Marina. Whats the progress of the project. After my 10% payment, I have not received any demand notice for payment neither I have received the signed sale agreement. Can any other owner throw some lights?

I received my signed sale agreement many months ago.
I think the superstructure is about to begin soon, and so is the demand for 2nd payment ie 15%.
Try calling up Encorp office yourself and find out if your agreement is stamped.

I think the 15% payment comes only after they have completed the superstructure of that particular floor. So lower floors will pay first.
