Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will give his National Day Rally 2011 speech on Sunday night.

He will deliver his speech from 6.45pm in Malay and Mandarin, and this will be followed by an intermission at 7.30pm.

At 8pm, he will speak in English. The rally will be held at the University Cultural Centre at the National University of Singapore.

Mr Chen Hwai Liang, Press Secretary to PM Lee, said in a statement: 'At the National Day Rally on Sunday night, PM Lee will discuss how the government will address the issues highlighted by the recent GE, especially in the areas of housing, education and jobs.

this is also our NATIONAL HALLOWEEN NIGHT of the 7th MONTH OF HUNGRY GHOSTS FESTIVAL. what would the nation be expecting?

can't help to be apphrensive about it.

if it's treat, there is usually a bigger trick behind every pap's treat. example: giving us a treat of sugar-coated candy but with slow release bitter poison camouflaged :(

GST is the greatest trick for treat!

it would be a treat if he dare to announce reduction. but a trick from pinky is always a devious treat: increase gst to help MORE needies and poor (?) hope that wouldn't be the greatest trick for tonight. :(

this year PM's speech was a real trick! at least to the eyes of the beholders. no more pink. no more ter kwa. but navy blue long sleeve. no more pointy mi mis either. he wore a T-shirt beneath and probably a BYFORD brand.

PM is trying to paint a happy future to soothe the present unhappy lot. there are many things that were left out. he purposely avoid mentioning the PE cos it'd inevitable that he'd voice support for tony tan which in turn might backfired. he learns much fr the ALJUNIED GRC incident which his old man goofed it up big times.

it also appears that mah bow tan had failed miserably during his stinit as minitoot. a few suggestions fr PM were so simplistic and yet wasn't applied during the shortie's reign over national development. raise the salary ceiling of hdb applicants and build more homes. that makes one wonder what were all the minitoots really were doing when they were tasked to it. probably skivving and surfing porns and wacky forums such as this one.

well, that was what ST reported and what PM hinted. but in reality, pap lost to themselves. they are arrogance and codescending and quite ignorance of citizens' plight, anguish, disappointment, anxiety, apprehension and all the negative pent up feelings which fall on deaf ears.

u bet ur arse that should they ve gotten a higher support, GST would be raised to 10% in order to "help more needies and the poor" and "business shall be improved with higher GST...."

tht's the crap they are preaching and that shall be the crap that would bring them down to their knees.
