Promising a National Conversation that would engage all Singaporeans at his recent National Day Rally, PM Lee Hsien Loong did just that as he met 19 of his Facebook fans and followers on Thursday evening for tea at the Istana.

The group -- which comprised of influential bloggers such as Lee Kin Mun aka mrbrown and Andrew Loh, former editor of The Online Citizen, as well as ordinary Singaporeans -- met the Prime Minister for over an hour, where they chatted over issues such as the declining birth rate and online behaviour.

More importantly, the light-hearted, casual setting set the tone for what looks set to be a genuine effort to re-engage Singaporeans of all walks of life in the charting of Singapore's future in the next 20 years.

YouTube sensation and child star Dr Jiajia stole the show when he delighted the crowd in attendance -- which included Manpower Minister Tan Chuan Jin and Chua Chu Kang Member of Parliament Low Yen Ling -- when he posed PM Lee a question. Watch his video below.

"Today I met 19 of my fans and followers over tea. You came from many backgrounds and age groups(Jiajia was the youngest  ), and some of you are more active online than others," wrote PM Lee on his Facebook page.

"I look forward to meeting more of you in future. Thank you all for your continued support! – LHL", he added.

How Come Sammyboy not invited for tea?

How come 'sammy boy' & the participants of SBF, including our most popular political residents, GMS, Scrobal etc.. invited for 'limp' kopi at the Instana with Pinky?

Blogger Mr Brown had brought two bowls of Lao Ban soya beancurd to the Istana for PM Lee.

Singapore, August 31, 2012

While having tea with local netizens at the Istana on Thursday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong revealed that he eats the famous Tiong Bahru tau huay (soya beancurd) every morning.

PM Lee was hosting a group of bloggers and fans of his Facebook page and Twitter account for around an hour to chat about issues ranging from education to social media.

The Straits Times reported that blogger Lee Kin Mun, better known as Mr Brown, had cycled to the Istana with two bowls of the famous Lao Ban tau huay to show his appreciation.

He brought the tau huay there as a reference to an event he had initiated, called Makan Day , as a protest against the Diner en Blanc incident where organisers briefly banned soya beancurd.

Mr Lee did not get to present them to PM Lee, as they were confiscated for security reasons.

According to the blogger, the Prime Minister appeared amused when he told him about the tau huay.

"He told me that he eats the famous Tiong Bahru tau huay every morning. No sugar!"

So surprised that andrew loh was invited while my missing pet snake ng ejay wasn't? probably the former tries very hard to put pap in good light while the latter, my missing petsnake is usually bias against the pap.

Pinky did not invite that short ass Xia Xue and that randy Steven Lim?

I saw Steven Lim outside woodlands mrt on the evening of 26th July trying to get girls to join his modelling "agency" . That guy was a joke and people avoided him like a plague but I really admired his perseverance
