The tears that PM Lawrence Wong shed as he delivered his Labour Day speech failed to move most S'poreans online, with many viewing the act as “crocodile tears” or “wayang”. A S'porean commenter who received almost 500 likes on Facebook, put it nicely: “He (PM Wong) teared today only, we tear every day.” Another netizen, referring to the high cost of living in a comment that got 300 likes, wrote: “I also tear when I see the COE at $118K.” Another S'porean stated: “I can understand how he felt, that overwhelming emotion … I feel that too when I see the COE price going up and up.”

Is PM Lawrence Wong crying for joy because of his $2.2 million salary?

Does the PAP send all its Ministers to acting classes at Medicorp? If so, Lawrence Wong, Lee Hsien Loong and Josephine Teo definitely need more lessons in order to cry more spontaneously.

Lol where’s the tears? I don’t know about u guys, but typically liquid called ‘tears’ will flow down from the eyes. Is he getting moist elsewhere?

PM Wong sprinkled pepper in his eyes in order to touch S'poreans to believe that the PAP suffers alongside the average S'porean.

The Govt is reluctant to tackle the demand-side issues of sky high COE prices; we assume that the revenue loss from lower premiums has a large part to do with this since the PAP collects $1 billion every month from COEs. The darker side to high COE prices is that it directly drives up the cost of living for all S'poreans. High COE prices make transportation extremely expensive, which will filter down to the rest of the economy, raising costs and reducing consumption. High COE prices consume a substantial part of a household's budget when the daily usage of a car is not a luxury, but a necessity for families with young children and elderly grandparents. It makes owning a car out of reach for a generation of white collar S'poreans, and lowers their quality of life compared to their Third World neighbours in Malaysia, where owning a landed home and 1-2 cars is the norm for PMET couples.

After learning Economics gems such as rental cost does not cause businesses to fail from PAP, they’ve already earned my respect wholeheartedly.

The PAP politicians are crying (for joy) all the way to the bank. Laughing to the bank is politically incorrect when S'poreans are crying for real!
PAP only get millions and they cried as umno gets away with billions. They should have remained in malaysia.

The PAP ministers are more intelligent because they decide how much to pay themselves. Their Malaysian counterparts do it the hard way by stealing taxpayers' money and accepting bribes; after they lose power, their political enemies will go after them.

The performance of our PAP ministers is overly underwhelming. Only they claim to be world class talents deserving to be paid millions.
