"Pervert" asks for my name and follows me from Dhoby Ghaut to Bugis
This man had apparently asked for STOMPer Joan's name when she was waiting for the train at Dhoby Ghaut station. When the frightened girl took his photo, he followed her all the way to Bugis Junction.
Said the STOMPer:
"While I was waiting for the train at Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station some after 1pm yesterday (Nov 9), this pervert suddenly approached me and asked me 'How are you?', and 'What's your name?'.
"He scared me, as I was all alone, and the area of the station was quite deserted.
"I tried to walk away, but he kept following me, even when I moved behind a pillar.
"I was terrified and I didn't know what to do, so I snapped his photo.
"He saw me taking his photo and it seemed like he wanted to approach me, but he stopped and walked away when I went up to an auntie for assistance.
"I boarded the train, made a transit at City Hall before alighting at Bugis to run some errands at Bugis Junction, thinking it was all over.
"But later on, at about 2pm, as I was waiting for a cab at a taxi stand at Bugis Junction, the same guy suddenly went up to me and asked me if I took his photo.
"I said no, and pretended to show him the photo gallery on my iPhone, but he suddenly snatched it away, and we got into a little struggle.
"People at the taxi stand thought I knew the guy.
"Luckily, a kind man overheard our conversation and helped me grab the iPhone away from the guy, who later ran away, yelling some stuff in Mandarin.
"I felt frightened and vulnerable with such people around."
