Singaporeans abhor confrontational politics. They prefer someone less adversorial and progressive. WP is making inroads so the formula is working. Whether by chance or accident why get so uptight as long as the PAP loses seats and in a more embarrassing manner than ever. Tang, JBJ, and many others paid a heavy price not because they were wrong but because PAP does not play fair. When it comes to WP, they are stuck. Cannot sue, cannot make bankrupt and have started to clutch at straws. Imagine the constant trivial nit picking about town council management and hawker centre cleaning. In the first place, it was the PAP that handed over town councils to politicians when it made sense to manage it centrally and thru regulated public officials. How did CST manage to upgrade lifts in Toa Payoh and PP when GCT said they cannot afford to do so due to their size.

If a surgeon cannot take on a humble and unassuming lady with relatively simple credentials, it shows the level of discontent. Why do you think WP did not field a demanding loudmouth shouting for blood and action. There are more than one way to skin a cat.

Why don't you start your own party and apply your formula. I am also one of the lazy ones that comment a lot and never do anything that I ask others to do. If you want to be like me, at least shoot the right arseholes. If you don't even know which is the arsehole in this equation, best stick to watching soap opera.

I understand you fully... I come here with an intention to bad mouth the PAP... However after I stayed here for a short while... I find that it do not need me...ha..ha... So I turn around create some sparks... I will find it really boring if everyday come here and scold for no reason...

However after my stay here for about 1 year plus... I can feel that there are a lot of peoples here for an agenda... I mean there are quite a lot of peoples here benefit from opposition and of course there are PAP IB too...

Not long ago, before 2011 I quite supportive of WP... But after their internal affair and also the sacking of some members, I feel that they cannot make it too...

WP got only one chance to meet sinkies' expectations if they ever formed the next Govt. They screwed up, it would be the end of the party as the main opposition. Pappies got their track records to fall on even if they screwed up again. They could always say: "It is a mistake, we can change."

We can expect WP to perform well and diligently if they get the chance to form new Govt. Political survival, lah.

The PAP debates issues in order to find the best solution for Singaporeans.

The WP, on the other hand, is simply trying to sabotage the government. Their arguments do nothing to help Singaporeans. All they're doing is wasting the time of everyone in Parliament and this delays the implementation of policies that can benefit all Singaporeans.

Absolute rubbish! Everyone knows that the PAP is already decided on each policy before it puts it to parliament for debate; in other words it is only for show or wayang in local parlance. However much hell and holler individual PAP MPs may raise in parliament, the policy still gets voted through as the whip is not lifted. Lee Kuan Yew had never subscribed to the notion of a parliamentary debate ever since Barisan Socialis walked out of parliament. He simply tells his cabinet what he wants as a policy and tabling it in parliament for debate is just going through the motion. Pure gimmick! Only an idiot can't see that.
