Serious Questions for PAP Supporters to Think About
In parliament recently, WP MP Sylvia Lim raised qs on the appointment of AG Lucien Wong, which are rightful - while he is known as LHL's personal lawyer in 38 Oxley Road matters, there has been zero mechanism in place to ensure that he (i.e. Wong) recuses himself from all matters 38 Oxley Road.
And Sylvia Lim also raised some key points, e.g. if there has been consideration of other candidates, a necessary qs as Wong has never represented the state in any legal matters prior to his first-term appointment as AG (https://www.todayonline.com/singapo...ng-succeed-v-k-rajah-attorney-general-january).
Yet, as seen here (), in the comments section, when Sylvia Lim raised the qs on Wong, look at the comments by the PAP people! They either 1) kept trying to double down that Wong is the "best qualified person", without trying to show with evidence or arguments how so, thinking that such lines can evade away the thrust of Lim's qs or 2) brought up Pritam Singh's criminal conviction when the matter Lim raised is not concerning Pritam Singh!
Qs - why these?
And so, my question to all the PAP people here is this.
If (hypothetically) the PAP rolls out Marxism-Leninism on grounds that "it will make/keep Singapore as the best nation among the rest", you people will support that wholeheartedly, correct?
Please don't reply me with the platitude that "the PAP and its supporters are rational people who will know how not to support a wrong when they see one". When you cannot recognise all the problems at hand in how your dear Party appointed Lucien Wong, and choose to hold them correct, just because it is done by people wearing all white with the circle and lightning badge (aka PAP logo).
And when to this day, you PAP people do these -
(i) Continue to engage in political idolatry (esp of the Lee family) and have no problems with tax $$$ spent on it, money that can make a GST hike less steep, even though political idolatry has been quantifiably harmful in the long run to any society that adopts it.
(ii) Support questionable fiscal policies such as the $900 million tax dollars spent to restructure SPH when 1) SPH could be made to source for their own funds and 2) the presence of MediaCorp and its news outlets means SPH is not "too big to fail".
(iii) Wholeheartedly and enthusiastically support public fare increases even though SMRT claims that they need the profits for maintenance purposes, while not releasing the formula in their annual reports on how they calculate their profits.
My dear PAP people - you are "rational people who love Singapore"? If so, why these?
