I'm not sure if the trains can handle this but:
1) extend the EW/NS lines by 1 train cabin (16% increase) during peak. Just need to align the back doors of the first train to the current 1st door on the platform. I think (think only ah, I have not measured and don't know the exact measurements between doors) the rest of the doors will align and the last cabin will have its front door aligned only. reserve the 2 cabins for "Women only" or "seniors" or something like that. so the demand is specific and channeled away from the rest of the train
2) worse case scenario, extend the front and back of each platform by a bit more to allow for all the doors. if you look the end of the platforms, they all have that "extra" space that can be used for this. The Govt like to spend our money, might as well use it for everybody's sake rather than cycling lanes
