And the NEA staff didnt do anything abt it?

I think NEA owes Singaporeans a clarification..ie is it ok to sell newpapers/newsletter without a hawking licence. NEA staff shd not go around harassing singaporeans when there are no clear guidelines regarding hawking

GMS : NSP is not paying the summon. You can arrest me if you want.

NEA : ... ... ...

GMS : No answer. That settles the issue. :oIo:
The news of the summoning was communicated to WP which has also been actively selling party newspapers. WP actually stopped selling for a week to check the law, then resumed again.

Torn up by GMS.

The saga and picture of some SPF women Officers ringing Chee Siok Chin to prevent her from walking was so hilarious. I was overseas at that time and my overseas friends had a good laugh abt the stupidity and modus operandi of the SPF. Some of us had tummy ache from laughter

How stupid and low can the SPF descend to?

hahahhaa..thanks...the Opposition shd push the boundaries like what GMS did and make a mockery of those enthusiatic but ignorant running dogs.

expose their inadequacies and embarrass them. put them on the defensive and force them to update themselves before they do their licking job

SPF junior officers execute orders only. Nowadays too many scholar senior officers. Even CSJ (ASP(NS)) himself said, don't blame the officers on the ground, the orders come from atop. It's no use scolding frontline officers or laughing at them in political cases like this. These are the same officers whom you'd call for help when you're victim of crime like robbery etc. Only occasionally, perhaps 1% of their working time, are on such cases.

I disagree...the officers on the ground have to go back and give accurate feedbacks to their superiors who are formulating policies. It takes feedbacks from both the ground officers and officers at HQ level to formulate, implement and enforce law and order

The ground officers cant excuse themselves from silly and stupid situations by claiming that they are just following orders...that's lame.

If what happened at the CSC saga was not fed back, the same situation wld arise again in future.

So if in future, such things happen again, are we just to blame the HQ officers?

Yes, and is it too much if I expect them to be professional in their jobs and do it well? After all, they claim to be professional officers and are paid well. Shd I expect any less from them?

Doing a job well one day and then making a fool of themselves the next day is not ok for a professional outfit like the SPF...It must aim for zero defect. One defect is one too many

Otherwise, we will get slip shoddy work like not monitoring Selamat's NOKs.

Let's demand high standards of them

Ground officers don't give feedback in cases of ops room radio command. They report exactly as the scene is seen without opinion. In the CSC case, I believe that a senior officer of commanding rank DSP was there. He'd seen it all himself there and then and gave the orders there and then. As a police officer (as with soldier) you can't simply disobey order and resign. You'd be court martialled and thrown into detention before you're "allowed to be sacked" i.e. dishonourable discharge.

Ground Officers dont mean just Junior Officers. The DSP was also a ground officer. All Officers on the ground regardless of rank were ground officers. In any operation, feedbacks from ground officers are important for AAR

Then blame whomsoever ever was the ranking officer who gave the order.

Feedbacks are not to disobey orders..If the SPF are as professional as they claim themselves to be, every SPF ground officer shd have the initiative to clarify and recommend better actions to his superior. Anyway, in such an operation, the SPF has at least a DSP or SUPT to manage the situation. It is not left to only junior officers. so the CSC saga is no excuse to say that the junior officers were just following orders. The SPF had a Senior Officer at the scene to give orders. So what happened that it turned out to be a mockery?

The old days of just following orders from higher ups is not enough.

Yes, and he was a Senior SPF Officer..so ultimately, the SPF cant absolve itself from the mockery.

Likewise for the Selamat's NOKs case

Finally, what did they do to Chee Siok Chin after the JOs surrounded her? Did they bundled her up the Police car or the ang chia?
