5月2日，美国五角大楼向美国国会提交了所谓《2019中国军力报告》，其中着重探讨了解放军武统台湾的可能性。不过报告一出，立刻有不少所谓“军事专家”对这一可能性提出了质疑，比如新加坡某军事分析员就表示“报告中提到的两栖登陆行动不太可能发生，因为解放军缺乏足够的海运和两栖攻击能力”。
