Old Land Cruiser - should I?

Saw an old classic Toyota Land Cruiser in the carpark of Foodland supermarket. Spoke to the owner and he is willing to part it for S$15,000. I love the old classic shape but then I believe it require lots of restoration and getting parts in the market may be difficult and require lots of time hunting for parts in the internet and importing.

Anyway I am hoping if someone, especially boss Sam, could advise me if S$15k is too much to pay for a beat-up SUV like this and if possible also comment is this is too much to restore.

Thanks Sam and especially for the link that gives me a clear picture how it will look like after restoration. And I just googled FJ40 it turned out there are many websites supplying parts so I guess it will be not a problem.

Go for it, the spare parts are still available, cos there are many many Land Cruisers around, and you can canabalise the spare parts.

i agree with you . its a collector item . why drive common cars on the road ..those vintage car , sometimes even if you have the money you also cannot find it because owner does not want to sell . but i still prefer vintage bike to vintage car .
