I know a Indonesia guy ( inroduce by friend ) by the name of sentosa . He put 48millions with MBS . One hand he bet one million ( table limit ) if he no confident he will bet 500k per game . Heard Rumors because of this guy MBS have lost money ( or make not enough profit ) .

Maybe " wash money " because he don't look like a decent biz man or maybe he gamble for the " kick " feeling . But he's a very humble guy IMO .

Or rather, Singaporeans shunt shitty work. Imagine yourself assigned to the smoking section, gamblers blowing smoke at you and cursing your ancestors every time they lose. To take leave, you have to submit your application for approval months in advance. Only way to take urgent leave is to fake illness to get MC. Unlike other jobs where you can arrive and start your shift within 10 mins, you have to queue up for the company bus, queue for uniforms, taking additional hours on non-paid time. Then there is the dreaded Gambling board, giving them reasons why you are up to your neck in credit card debts and housing loans, implying you are not fit to work in a casino, hoping they grant you or renew your license.

I think Singaporeans shunned shift work hence I know alot of them have resigned after the contract period as ended...

Bro, I only a small timer. No need to go VIP room otherwise my bet amount make myself malu lah. The things I observed can be quite irritating at times. Can be comical too and down the common area, many things to look-see. No big problem. Bearable.

You actually believe in this? Many gamblers cursed the casinos in Genting (before we had our own) and cruise ships but you cannot deny the more they are cursed, the better the casinos performed.

Someone connected with SBOBET places 500k bets per hand. From what I observed downstairs where the commoners bet, most of the big timers are PRCs and Indonesians. A few nights ago, while I placed my $100 bet, someone from behind me placed a 5k bet. When he lost, he just smiled and walked off. No pain at all! Croupier told me that's his 3 months pay.

Money NO ENOUGH for many. At home, our MIW happen to be good examples.

I can think of another reason. Some gamble for the thrill. Other more jialak type (pathological gamblers), win or lose not THE most important. They want the cheekekness associated with beo pai. If they wanted to make money through gambling the fast way, can always place bets on face-up tables. But they want to feel the cards!

There are many super rich in S'pore who used to frequent casinos overseas and now, deeply entrenched in RWS and MBS.

Yes, yet to come across anyone I know who bought houses with money won in casinos. In fact, many had to sell to settle debts. Some suicide. Short term, if lucky, win. Long term sure die. Why? Because many gamble in desperation. Others, habitual. Few view gambling as a business. Casinos are around to do business. That's why they survive. Best to hit-and-run as a gambler. The longer you stay, the uglier your death. I speak from earlier experience.
