The labour movement will spare no effort to raise funds for its lower-income members should there be a downturn in the coming year.
The assurance was given by Mr Zainudin Nordin, director of NTUC Care and Share, who told reporters yesterday that 'even if we cannot repeat the record amount of 2009, the work put in to raise the money will not be any less'.

This "I am good at managing Singapore football" Zainudin has perhaps offered the most Freudian slip of where the NTUC has been wrong all these years. And the cheek to say that he will only do so 'should there be a downturn in the coming year'. Has he not even read his own PM's comments about the economy next year? Looks like even he does not read the Straits Times.
