At the risk of digressing, with the elections coming, I think that any party that resorts to demagoguery will gain a lot of seats. You want to win, just tell the sheep in Sinkieland that with their mandate, you'll replace NS with professional force, kick out FThrash and drop all the stealth taxes. Just don't bother with "freedom of expression". Sinkie sheep are apathetic to that. Which is why SDP is a joke amongst many Sinkie sheep.

I've my thoughts on the feasibility of that. But that's beside the point. I'm talking about winning the elections. Winning the elections and governing a country are two different matters. That's why I said that you need demagoguery to win the elections. Promise everything during election period. Whether you can fulfill or not is irrelevant. Sinkie sheep are largely apathetic to political issues. To paraphrase Jerry Maguire, just show them the money.

You're a real politician. You should join a party to stand for election. A politician is not about fulfulling promises. A politician is about making enough promises to win an election and being able to explain away why promises can't be kept after winning.

Indeed. I'm no psychologist but I think these 反对党 just want to blame their personal failings on the "evil" rich or PAPpies. Then they convince themselves that they are the next Mandela or Gandhi, fighting against the tyrants on behalf of the people (who laughs at them in return). What a joke! PAPpies are no angels but do they really think Sinkie sheep would rather vote for them than PAPpies?
