How convenient, if the table tennis game is so important, can just delay by an hour or so what. Now, whatever gaffes he made would be edited away. Very good! PM LEe will have a PERFECT speech this year! Majullah Singapura!

In an unprecedented move, the telecast of the English version of the Prime Minister's National Day Rally will be postponed by one day to 8pm tomorrow night.

This is so that it will not clash with the telecast of the Singapore-China table tennis finals at the Beijing Olympics tonight.

'The Prime Minister has changed the telecast timings for his National Day Rally speech so that Singaporeans can watch and support our team 'live' at the Olympics Table Tennis Women's Team Finals,' said a surprise statement from the Prime Minister's Office yesterday evening

seems that the unprecedented medal quest is much more important than our unprecedented livihood. 1 million vs 750k.

glory bought is reduced to naught.

PM Lee himself must be reading this forum. That’s why he decided to delay his English speech telecast to deny us of the eagerly awaited Mee Siam Mai Hum Episode II.

It's really a pity. His gaffes were always the highlight of an inconsequential speech!

I think that he's afraid that most would watch the Olympics instead of him speaking. It would be embarrassing if most home and coffeeshop TV sets are tuned in to the Olympics instead of the ND Rally.

Does it make any difference?

Those FTs bargaining power with the PAP will be raised if they bag the gold
