read in newspaper about this today

who the f come out with this crap idea?

or is this another biz opportunity for some gahment-supported contractors to use the taxpayers' dollars?

when it pours, yes, it will prevent liat tower from flooding. but it is undeniable that the water level will still be high with such heavy downpour, so where does that volume of water flow to? perhaps lucky plaza, tangs, wisma on one side got effected this time while far east and tanglin shopping centre gets it on the other side? or again another new biz opportunity for gahment-supported contractors to built more barriers?

unless they tell me that by raising the barriers, the heavenly bodies above will stop the rain, then it's a different story.

if proper drainage is in place to ensure outflow of the waters, then why the need for this, this "thing"?

i'll bet the brainchild for this, this "thing" would says it's for double protection. i have one suggestion, wear a condom.

I thought MM said, no amount of engineering can prevent flood! Then why spent these useless $$$ n installation?

this is tai-ji of the highest grade ....re-divert the flood to your neighbour shops. Tenants better pay yor rent in time for 'protection' . Another ingenious idea to create employment for FT.:D

Maybe government is forcing the owners of Liat Towers to sell their property cheap to them.

Go and die faster. Give such reason. Orchard is higher than sea level and is only about 3.5km direct distance from sea.
Is because of poor planing and management. Ask LKY to invite open debate on this matter and I will attend.

You Laid Leia B4 Me? No wonder she looked old and grumpy now.

Thats the way the govt kind of solve problems... Never into the root of the problem but just scrapping the tip of the ice-berg and will then said we did something... If it doesn't work.. too bad... Let's move on and be realistic.
