Chitchat Naive millenials think toxic companies care that people are leaving and will bother to "fix the culture" *LOL*

Don't work too hard. Nobody cares. No job is worth dying for. Got one case, fresh uni grad working in sales. Had to drink to entertain customers everyday to seal the deal to hit sales target. Everyday drink hard liquor. "C'mon! You young man! You were PTI during NS! So fit! Drink up! You can do it!" He died from alcoholic liver disease. He was only in his 20s.Another case, young father, wife just gave birth. His bodoh supervisors put so much pressure on him, yelling at him over everything, he fell into a constant state of anxiety and fear. One morning the wife woke up to find he wasn't beside her and the bedroom window and metal grill were strangely open; they were closed and locked when they went to bed the night before. She climbs out of bed, looks out the window and sees a police blue tent below her block. She finds out it's her deceased husband. He had woken up in the middle of the night, opened the metal grill and window then jumped. No job is worth dying for, chewren. Know when you're being manipulated in the office. Know when to push back. Work smart and know to protect yourself.
I know a former classmate who had a slave driver as a boss. He was so stressed at work that he dragged himself to the office daily because he has a wife and 3 school-going children to support. Then his father passed away and left him a landed property and 1/3 share of his bank accounts. He achieved financial freedom at the age of 51 at that time, and tendered his resignation years ago. Not everyone is as fortunate as him though.

That's right chewren. When you whistleblow you are naive to believe HR will protect you.

HR will use the information to protect the company, abetted by the top levels. Meanwhile, you the whistleblower will be managed out. *LOL*

KPMG’s chairman and two senior partners will quit following the consultancy firm’s handling of whistleblower allegations that it misused confidential client information.

Any organisation will almost certainly deny every allegation of impropriety. Since companies usually have more funds than employees, they will resort to threats and legal action to outlast a whistleblower - hoping that the accuser’s money and resolve will run dry.

The reason why whistleblowers may be discouraged from reporting wrongdoing could lie with S'pore’s defamation law. While it tries to prevent the innocent from slander, this law may also protect the wealthy and influential from prosecution. An employee may choose to turn a blind eye to any grave wrongdoing because of the legal expenses involved, or the perceived hopelessness of engaging with a powerful adversary.

Who can forget city harvest church and what they did to church member and whistleblower Roland Poon until he was so fearful that he retracted his statement and apologized.

The leprechaun Edwin Tong even served as the lead defense lawyer for Kong Hee during the highly publicized trial.

When you whistleblow, the toxic culture won't be fixed. The whistleblower gets fixed instead.

Still think you'll get justice?

In 2003, City Harvest Church threatened to sue whistleblower. Guess he should feel vindicated today

"Lunch is for wimps"? Of course the people who own the business want you to believe in the lie that "lunch is for wimps". That way they get another additional hour of labor from you everyday.
