Chitchat Naive millenials think toxic companies care that people are leaving and will bother to "fix the culture" *LOL*

"Realistically, there are probably a bunch of people at the company who shouldn’t be here,” Zuckerberg said in a recording obtained by The Verge.
“Part of my hope by raising expectations and having more aggressive goals, and just kind of turning up the heat a little bit, is that I think some of you might decide that this place isn’t for you"

Keep an eye for this phrase the millennial/Gen Z snowflakes enjoy: 'safe space'.

I think I have seen 'safe space' on a poster at the NUS campus during one of my recent explorations there. And there is a 'gender neutral' toilet near the Central Library, see if you can spot it if you're in that area.
Wow…uou mean NUs is not that safe so it need to create safe space awareness??

I am in favour of clearing out dead wood because there is no free lunch as far as any boss is concerned. However, in many companies, the boss prefers to be surrounded by average supporters in his management team. It creates a "safe space" for him as there won't be outstanding leaders who are a threat to his position nor will he have deputies who will disagree with his direction for the company. Unfortunately, groupthink will be entrenched like the PAP, where nobody dares to disagree with the PM or SM.

Well, Sinki need to be educated to be like sheep’s and have conformance mindset :)

If employees display any brilliance, their supervisors might fear being replaced by the very subordinates whose work appraisals they graded favourably. Many rising stars in a company receive a rude shock at their next performance review; instead of the expected glowing appraisal, their bosses criticise their decision-making and marginalise their contributions. Whether such talents resign in anger or are forced out, the organisation loses a vital contributor because of a paranoid boss trying to sabotage a subordinate perceived as a threat to his job.

Also many colleagues and coworkers are foreigners that can't wait to push locals out. Because useless managers and bosses are too dense, listening to whatever bullshit spew into their ears like sacred words. The reason why so many things are declining because incompetent people are at higher position guarded by their own idiots 'yes' men, they got no real talent to challenge or question their decisions.

If you see a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that is a post turtle. It didn't get up there by itself. It doesn't belong up there. It's out of its comfort zone. It doesn't know what to do while it's up there. It's stuck and unproductive. You just wonder what kind of dumbass put it there in the first place! A post turtle is in a position of power that he didn't achieve through his own efforts. Someone put him there. He lacks the necessary skills, knowledge or understanding to perform effectively. He is stuck, like a turtle on a post. The term is used to point out cronyism in leadership roles.

This describes the PAP where cronyism and nepotism rule. Groupthink is deeply entrenched and nobody dares speak up for the long suffering people because of the fear of losing their iron rice bowl filled with gold ingots.

HR is there to protect the business/company.

When staff whistle-blow, you're naive to believe HR will protect the staff. HR will use the information to protect the company.

"A whistleblower brought allegations regarding client documents being inappropriately shared internally to the senior leadership team.
An internal investigation did not substantiate the claims, with a further external legal firm also supporting the outcome."

Hard truths *LOL*

Human Resource, by the way, is there to protect the business and not the wage-cucks....errr....employees.

People leaving? By all means. It's a time-tested stamped-chopped-certified effective HR strategy called 'managing people out'.

Meanwhile, there's still a long queue outside, fresh meat eager and willing to take over your place.

There's nothing human about human resource

He should
Army special forces, combat-tested, survived sleep deprivation and enemy fire. But this too does not make one immune.

Entity also still doing very well. Very very long queues of fresh grads lining up to join. Share price is in fact at an all time high. *LOL*

Bank of America banker who died had sought to leave, citing long hours

He should have come to Singapore instead. Cecas having fun ...especially the other Gupta in our local bank.

There was an accusation of sexual harassment made against a senior manager at one of my former companies by a young female subordinate. The CEO and HR questioned the manager who flatly denied the accusation, and the woman was told to show proof i.e. an audio or video recording. Failure to produce the evidence meant that the case was closed; how does she tell the manager to repeat his fondling and start recording the video while he does so? The aggrieved woman resigned thereafter when her boss made life hell for her.

Hokay chewren?

In the office, just wear a mask and do your job as per your employment contract

Think only about getting your paycheck at the end of the month

The office is not a place to make real friends or to preach to the Board about your ideals to make the world a better place or to "fix the culture"

The people who own the business only want to make money. All staff are expendable. Staff are in fact a liability since they cost money.

Reality bites

Fucking retard Sinkies who think employers give a fuck how they feel.
Even the CEO is just an employee and dispensable. Dr Tan See Leng earned $11.9 million back in 2018, despite IHH Healthcare suffering a 35.3% drop in earnings from FY2017. Unsurprisingly, he was forced to step down as CEO after that dismal showing.

Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia once claimed that AI does not replace employees; it is the employee who has not mastered AI who will be replaced by the colleague who does so. It is just another way of saying that human headcount will be reduced significantly by AI.

Abstract

Lights-out factories represent the pinnacle of manufacturing advancement, utilizing automation, digitalization, and intelligent technologies for unmanned production. These factories employ advanced tools such as process control systems, smart sensors, and industrial robots to enhance efficiency. Constructing lights-out factories is complex, involving multiple disciplines, and there is a lack of comprehensive literature on the subject, posing challenges for interested companies. This paper presents a lights-out factory architecture diagram and reviews key literature on the topic, summarizing relevant technologies and their social impact. The lights-out factory model can help enterprises reduce costs, increase efficiency, improve production quality, enhance safety, and promote high-quality development. However, challenges remain, including high costs, reliability issues, personnel requirements, applicability concerns, and technological hurdles. Future advancements in sensor technology, digital twin technology, and other innovations will drive further development of lights-out factories.

Don't work too hard. Nobody cares.

No job is worth dying for.

"Lunch is for wimps"? Of course the people who own the business want you to believe in the lie that "lunch is for wimps". That way they get another additional hour of labor from you everyday.

Got one case, fresh uni grad working in sales. Had to drink to entertain customers everyday to seal the deal to hit sales target. Everyday drink hard liquor. "C'mon! You young man! You were PTI during NS! So fit! Drink up! You can do it!" He died from alcoholic liver disease. He was only in his 20s.

Another case, young father, wife just gave birth. His bodoh supervisors put so much pressure on him, yelling at him over everything, he fell into a constant state of anxiety and fear. One morning the wife woke up to find he wasn't beside her and the bedroom window and metal grill were strangely open; they were closed and locked when they went to bed the night before. She climbs out of bed, looks out the window and sees a police blue tent below her block. She finds out it's her deceased husband. He had woken up in the middle of the night, opened the metal grill and window then jumped.

No job is worth dying for, chewren. Know when you're being manipulated in the office. Know when to push back. Work smart and know to protect yourself.
