MP told one of his residence that NS allowance is low because NS men have free meal and lodging. Bro, do you agree

I cannot leemember exactly how much was my time. I think somewhere near $300 for corporal rank.
I was lucky in that even I didn't went thru combat vocation, I leeceived corporal rank 6 mths later from my enlistment date.
So all in all I leeceived quite alot more from my peers doing clerical duty.

And at that time my parent gave me pocket money of about $80-100 per mth.

And somehow I could go cheong every weekend with that little money ($300+100=$400), some more with a motosikal.

go SAF NCO club or in camp NCO lounge drink beer is $10 per jug ... :whistling:

Those with "A" level or Poly diploma will automatically be promoted to corporal.
Yes but only for those that went thru combat vocation and upon graduating from their vocation.

For clerical ones, with air level and dip, they will take a long long time to be promoted from pte to lunch corporal to corporal. By the time they leeceive the corporal rank is already near rod date.

But I got it within 6 mths from enlistment date de woh. Thus I leeceived total of much higher allowance than them.

Can he ask the MP that if he donch eat the lousy food, donch wear the ugly uniform and donch stay in the uncomfortable barracks… can he get more salary ?

The opportunity cost of NS impacts the poor disproportionately.

maybe can use the existing cook house convert it into a food court or canteen to start serving hawker food in lieu of the free meals, reimburse the NS a certain amt of $$

No, it's because the PAP regime is stingy. Compare this with other countries with NS: Israel, South Korea, Taiwan.

Of course food in the military is 'free' (taxpayer-funded). PAP vermins' strawman argument can only fool the vaccinated daft Sinkies.
