So, are you saying Singapore has people that don't have any work, are homeless and begging on the streets?
I didn't say anything. All I did was post a video and let it do the talking.
And, you posted the video because you agree with whats on the video? Or for its artistic interpretation of the situation in Singapore?
The video shows images of the poor, the homeless and the destitute. There's nothing to agree or disagree with. The scenes are either real or they're staged. I'm 100% sure the images are genuine because I've seen similar scenes myself.
In Singapore? Or are you referring to other countries?
I'm referring to Singapore. It's not a new phenomenon. I witnessed old ladies collecting cardboard way back in the 80s and I remember thinking to myself... "what sort of family would neglect their elderly in such a manner.....".
The correct comment to make is: "what sort of government would neglect their senior citizens in such a manner"
the first few posts look like a cross examination.![]()
Does it? Apologize if it looks that way.
It most certainly is. What you're trying to do is to make me commit to one side of the fence at the expense of the other but in reality, nothing is black and white.
Do I agree with everything LKY does and says? Of course I don't. Do I support the PAP?... in many policies the answer is "yes" and in many other policies the answer is "no".
The "you're either for us or against us" stance is fine in cowboy town but it has no place in a complex modern society.
Indeed, sorry about that. I was wondering why you had the video up and was just curious as to where you stand in regards to the video. You do have a persona for being pretty pro-PAP for a while.
I'm pro PAP when it comes to welfare. I am anti PAP in many other areas.
At the risk of being perceived to be interrogating you.In what areas do you see the PAP for not performing up to scratch? Do you think the long term viability of Singapore as an island are threatened by these then?
Policy wise, they are sound. It's easy to criticise but Singapore has very few options when it comes to growing its economy and I doubt if any other political party would come up with anything better.
Where they fail is the way they play the game. They cheat, they lie, they cover up, they manipulate and they operate anything but a meritocracy when it comes to selecting their management team.
Yes, that seems to echos many similar views you see here. Do you also see the danger that selecting their own management team through this way can cause potential disasters for the future of the country? Some of which could eventually filter down to all levels of society? Perhaps that was the point of the video then?
