At the Yeo's R&D Centre. Many of the locally developed low sugar beverages would qualify for Nutri-Grade A/B.

OYK joined Mariam Jaafar for Buka Puasa.

Joined Mariam Jaafar for Buka Puasa at Woodlands Sports Pavilion yesterday.
Present at the event were the leaders of Masjid Assyafaah, Masjid Petempatan, and Masjid Yusof Ishak. Also present were leaders of the Qaryah groups in Sembawang GRC, community and M3 (MUIS, Mendaki and Mesra) volunteers.
Mariam had an update of upcoming events in the constituency, including the very popular Hari Raya Open House at Kampung Admiralty.
I thanked the Malay Muslim community for their contributions and sacrifice during the COVID-19 pandemic, and wished them abundant blessings during the month of Ramadan.
A very young Ustaz Abdul Fattah from Masjid Yusof Ishak led the Azan. The food was sponsored by a new eatery in Woodlands.
It was a nice event of bonding and sharing of food.

Advice to my younger self.

“It’s the little things in life that don’t seem to matter, that actually contribute to your well-being later.”
Last Friday (7 Apr) was World Health Day – a day to recognise the global commitment towards everyone, everywhere, attaining the highest level of health and well-being.
He helms our healthcare system and is rallying everyone towards a healthier Singapore. Beyond the office though, Ong Ye Kung draws on personal experience and pain, believing deeply that each Singaporean must be encouraged to ‘defy their instincts’, and be enabled to do small things for better health in the long run.

With COVID-19 becoming endemic, Ministry of Health, Singapore will consolidate vaccination operations across our Children Vaccination Centres (CVC) and Joint Testing and Vaccination Centres (JTVCs).
These are the changes in the coming weeks:
1️⃣
Given dwindling demand, all CVCs will be closed. Last day of operations: 15 April.
2️⃣
Instead, vaccination for children aged 6 months to 11 years will be relocated to six JTVCs from 17 April.
3️⃣
JTVC Commonwealth will be closed, given low demand and another JTVC nearby, at Bukit Merah. Last day of operations: 29 April.
4️⃣
JTVC Sengkang will be relocated to a more convenient location at 19A Sengkang Square from 2 May.
Besides these changes, COVID-19 vaccination will continue to be offered by appointment at selected Polyclinics and Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPCs).
MOH continues to maintain a network of vaccination sites comprising JTVCs, polyclinics and participating PHPCs. This will serve our current vaccination needs while allowing us the flexibility to scale up operations when necessary.
Visit https://gowhere.gov.sg/vaccine to locate your nearest vaccination site and its operating hours.

OYK very happy to see many residents visiting the temple.

Today is Panguni Uthiram, which honours Lord Muruga, the Hindu god of war. This is an important festival for the Tamil Hindus, celebrated by both the Shaivities and Vaishnavites.
This morning, Vikram Nair and I joined the celebration at the Holy Tree Sri Balasubramaniar Temple. This is the largest event organised by the temple since Singapore transited to DORSCON Green.
We are also most grateful to the temple for installing the glass facades which will further address concerns of residents, who moved into the estate in recent years, about noise disturbances during festivities at the temple.
Very happy to see so many residents, toddlers in tow, visiting the temple this morning.

OYK has an important update.

Ong Ye Kung

5 April at 14:22 ·
An important update on the implementation of #HealthierSG.
As many of you know, Healthier SG is about getting Singaporeans to embrace preventive care. GPs, whom we regularly see and take medical advice from, are key to this effort.
We have therefore placed tremendous focus on onboarding GPs onto Healthier SG, and have been working with various GP groups.
We are supporting GPs to take up this new role. This includes grants for IT upgrades, an option for patients with complex chronic conditions to opt for subsidised polyclinic drugs, and annual service fees for each resident that GPs enrol into Healthier SG and take care of.
Since last November, we have actively sought their views through many physical and online seminars. Most recently, we held a Town Hall which was attended by more than 600 GPs. We received much feedback, and have adjusted the scheme to make it work for them.
Our recruitment of GPs started in March. As of today, out of 1,200 CHAS GP clinics in Singapore, 712 have joined Healthier SG. These include all major group practices such as Raffles Medical Group and Healthway Medical Group, and most clinics in large Primary Care Networks (PCN) such as Class PCN and Frontier PCN.
I am most encouraged by this development. On behalf of Ministry of Health, Singapore, I thank our GPs for supporting this important national policy that will fundamentally change the health landscape and elevate the role of GPs and primary care.
As we work towards enrolment in July, I hope even more will come on board.

OYK shared three important areas.

Ong Ye Kung

2 h ·
Attended and spoke at the Seedly Personal Finance Festival today.
But rather than talk about financial matters, I shared three important areas in our personal lives worth investing in.
1f4da.png
Learning
Embrace lifelong learning, including structured learning. I myself have always wanted to take up courses in coding and data science. For the young, consider carefully if we want to build a portfolio of job experiences, or stay in one organisation to learn deeply.
‍‍‍
Relationships
Never take relationships for granted, especially with parents, spouse and children. Enjoy parenting and spend enough time with young children.
1f45f.png
Health
Take care of your health. Gratification from unhealthy living is instant, but the suffering is long-term.
A common thread cutting across all investments, financial or otherwise; is to do what is sensible and right for the long term, often against herd pressure, and even though the benefits are not obvious in the short term. Otherwise, it won’t be called investment.

OYK planted trees.

Sembawang is doing its part to plant a million trees in Singapore. One of our town development priorities is to preserve as much of the greenery in Sembawang as possible. In Bukit Canberra alone, the aim is to plant over 2,000 trees at Bukit Canberra Community Hub.
This morning, to commemorate Sustainability Day, together with Vikram Nair, Poh Li San, Dr Lim Wee Kiak and residents, we planted 100 native trees at Bukit Canberra.
