Man sentenced to 12 months' jail for sex with minor

A man ceased contact with a teen after having sex with her but found out later that she was pregnant.
Muhammad Rashid Rosli, 30, now an assistant operation manager, was on Friday sentenced to 12 months' jail for having sex with a minor at the carpark of Republic Polytechnic in March 2010. He was then 27, and she, 15.
A district court heard that they became acquainted over the Internet in 2009. They exchanged personal details and subsequently met on several occasions to chat.
One evening in March 2010, he picked her up in his car and drove to Republic Polytechnic carpark where he committed the offences of sexual penetration, one of which was taken into consideration.
