NUS attracts all sorts of perverts... sex for grades professor Tey, alvin tan and a man who even goes to NUS to steal lingerie
Man caught for trying to steal lingerie at NUS
Suspect held after campus security alerted all students in an e-mail
Within four hours of an appeal for information, a young man was caught for trying to steal women's undergarments from a hostel at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
His capture came soon after the university's Office of Campus Security sent an e-mail to all students, asking for information on a "male stranger, age 20-25 of Asian descent".
The suspect is now helping the university in its investigations. The e-mail was sent around noon on Tuesday, a student told The Straits Times.
The man's picture, taken from the cameras at the women's wing of the hall of residence, accompanied the e-mail. It shows the bespectacled man wearing a blue polo T-shirt and white bermudas. He has been identified, the campus security office later told students in an e-mail.

Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported that the man had entered the Raffles Hall hostel around 10am.
A cleaner spotted him trying to steal women's undergarments that were hung out to dry along the hostel's walkway. He fled and the cleaner told the university authorities about it.
When contacted on Wednesday, the NUS spokesman declined to comment on the incident, saying "investigations are ongoing".
Yet another appeal for information has been made by the university, in the e-mail it had sent the students to inform them of the man's capture. The latest appeal involved a theft last month at one of the six halls on the Kent Ridge campus. A police report has been made.
The suspect is also a young man in his early 20s, and the e-mail said valuables were stolen from the rooms of the students. His picture was given in the e-mail.
The police too had sent a similar appeal for information on the theft last Thursday. The man was last seen wearing a checked short-sleeved shirt, dark-coloured bermudas and black shoes. When asked about the frequency of thefts on campus, the NUS spokesman said it remains "low" and the two incidents are "isolated cases that occur from time to time".
