not surprising anymore as johor is short on water because of the perfect storm of drought and surging demand from massive real estate development. there will be a time when rivers, rain water collection and reservoirs will not be sufficient for her own use. sg must think beyond johor and reliance on a neighbor who can hold sg hostage as johor will eventually serve her own interest first. the first step is not go beyond the 6.9 million population "red" warning limit when shit production cannot outpace water consumption as sinkies and ft's constipate more with more stress, debt and taxes. moreover it requires more water to soften hardened shit - the kind of shitwater recovery you don't want.

If Singapore has been paying 3 sens all these decades for water, then why have these savings and low cost not been passed on to singaporeans? Water bill keep going up all the time. In the meantime, the fixed cost of pipeline and filtration plants keep getting smaller and smaller due to depreciation. The truth is all these decades, the immoral PAP has been making huge profits off a basic necessity like water. Water is one of the 4 profiteering Pillars of the PAP, along with CPF, HDB and Road/COE tax. Instead, stupid sinkies are arguing about how much profit Johor is earning from the 50 sens they pay for treated water from SIngapore. They should be really asking why they have to pay so much when we are only getting the water for 3 sens. Sinkies are always looking outside at other people. Not happy that other people making money but not noticing their assholes are being raped in the meantime.

And Newater is so unsafe that they are mostly using it for factories only now. And whatever is in the drinking system is heavily blended with other sources of water. Dr. M also knows that the PAP has no leverage against him. If u recall in the 1980s, there was a lot of fanfare announced by old fart as to how we will have a new source of water from the Riau islands, what happened to that? If we had this Riau island source, then his bargaining position is weakened alot. Instead, we have this crap nonsense compromised position that we are in now.
Sinkees can cut consumption of water by 50 percent and we will live happily ever after ;-)
