What is wrong with adopting a European surname? Any European surname probably sounds better than your surname. You cannot do worse than converting a Chinese surname into English using some Pinyin system like what the illiterate coolies in Singapore have done, the names come out retarded.

Foo Hoo Lor, Tan Ah Lian, Tan Ah Beng. Imagine being stuck with such a name for life! At least get a proper English surname for christ's sake!
