I agreed yours points on the transformation from 70s to 90s to now.
For much bigger countries it would be difficult to manage it from third world to first world.
For that size countries I am sure the rich and the poor gap will be very high.

People is saying we have reach first world thanks to the government.
In a way it was the government past effort
But for our land this size holding approximately 4mil citizen and if much people is left behind.
Then I believe there is a management problem.

Lastly I believe Singapore is still a good place to live in Asia.
That is provided we dont fall under the group of left behind.

actually bro for me singapore did reached 1st world country yes that was in the 70s to early 90s those day sg really the 1st world country.
now when i visited sg i look around people faces are stress and full of worried like there no life in them.

singapore is a good place to live if one is rich but for the poor and middle income i dont think so just imagine the poor and middle income get old and there no job for them how are they going to survive. i always told my dear wife if we grow old in sg when i too old and no more strength to push trolley our last stop will be at mrt track or bedok reservoir and she always reply me that i am crazy but deep inside she knows i am telling the truth and listen to me to migrate out of sg while we still young.
i glad we left bro

From 70s to 90s all countries are doing well after the end of WW2. Expect Vietnam who were at war with US, the evil warmonger of the century...

The baby boomers were the drivers of the economy. I billion baby boomers are growing up from infant to toddler to teenager to adulthood, the demands for milk powders, schools, education, housings and cars come in stages as the baby boomers grow... yes, the good time of the 70s and 90s are great years never before....

If u are to baby boomer children u hv benefitted from them with travel holidays, good housing 3 bedroom for you the X generation, and anything in bwtween.

Now these baby boomers are aging and going to leave their mess for you to cleanup.

Time to feel the heat now of slow down, but u hv enjoyed a great childhood life with abundance resources, good schools and now greedy for a double degree qualification stressed for nothing.

Nevertheless, war ir WW3 is good for millennial kids to suffer abit, the goid old days are gone never to come back again....

to me bro singapore was the best to lived in the 70s to early 90s those days life were simple and everybody were happy and less stress and happy and friendly.
after the 90s things slowly started to change when the gahmen open the gate and slowly gettting crowded that when people started to be stress. salary was stagnant because employers can get cheaper worker and work longer hours.

there was once i told my ang mo neighbor that i came from sg he said singapore airport very nice but after i told him what really going on in sg his jaw drop!
he couldnt believe such a rich country the people have to push trolley to sell to karang guni just to buy food for day and foreigners are give free education while the local have to take bank loan or sell their house just to pay the school fees. so from that conversation he have a diffeeerent view
you can say that again!

Many of frens left this shithole only for one reason, they fuking hate the Lee dynasty and his thieves in many ways. Those left, most are talented individuals who would do well any where.

when i was in singapore i live in hdb flat and working as a mailroom cum despatch daont dare to have a baby because cant afford to feed another mouth.and worst every year things get more and more expensive and we getting poorer each year. after we migrated to Australia and work hard now i have a baby girl 6 year old already and a puppy (yes a muslim keep a puppy i adopted her from spca) because i used to lived in kampong i always loves dogs in sg i cant keep dog in hdb because no space for them to run here and there. i got 2 suv and owned 2 houses. and goes holiday twice a year.
