there are other considerations -- the type of port facilities available, and the quality of service; security; admin efficiency on the ground. The Gulf of Thailand is a different proposition. You are not going to easily get the type of safety that's been established in this part of SEA. Who's responsible for regulating safety of the newly carved trade routes? Cambodia, Vietnam?
