Lol..i am a humble old man leg halfway into my coffin :D

Singkies need to learn the danger of pap getting a clean sweep n going back to the past whereby there was no opposition in parleement. This might make singkies wake up ...I have had enough of singkies BS like , I vote pap but I hope opposition win, I vote pap bcos old fart die, I vote pap bcos I want upgrading, I will only vote wp.. if this is the reasoning of singkie voters. I rather don't have an erection n let pap continue forever

Let them vote, let them decide...whom the wants to vote has already being decided...like you have mentioned, we already known, the usual 'punch & judy' puppets show...so why waste time voting. Just let the PAP continue forever...they are the PAST, PRESENT & the FUTURE...PAP IS THE BEST....none other!

As a former elections boundary committee member, I can assure oppies that the election boundary committee carries out its duties without fear nor favour, especially when it comes to dealing with the ruling party. We are answerable to the government of singapore, not to any particular political party. We are as non-partisan as the People's Association.

It's thanks to our impartiality that the oppie wins in Aljunied is credible and not lampooned as a rigged elections to give oppies token representation in parliament.

the election department always favor the current government everywhere. but in SG, it is directly controlled by the PM makes the situation much worse, few would believe it is non-partisan. it's wrong to redraw the election boundaries for every election, most countries did it every 15 years or 3/4 election terms to reduce the effects of gerrymandering for a level playing field for all.

If it this year, it should be OCT to Nov period.

School holidays period is out for 2 reasons
1. It will affect voter turnout which disadvantage PAP.
2. Teachers and civil servants who are recruited as election officers needs to go holiday too.

Jan 2020 also unlikely as it CNY month. Voters will be busy preparing for the festival. Feb ministries will be busy preparing for budget. That leaves March to May period next year. If it in the 2nd half, it can be anytime after NDP.

You need the school holidays to deploy the teachers at the many schools that are used as voting places.

School holidays have no impact on voter turnout. The public sector wage slaves cannot go on holiday anytime they please.

It's always amusing to see a town being tossed between GRCs every election.

After the election, a lot of signs have to be changed: the playgrounds, the lifts etc, to reflect the new ownership of the town.

All because the gerrymandering folks carved out the territory on a whim.

Maybe the committee will remove TPL's SMC and put her in a Pulau [insert name] SMC!
