Went to Thomson to visit some relatives...they brought me to Shunfu market...wow...this stall called Lai Heng Char Kuay Teow is the best i have ever eaten...very shiok feeling when you eat with the si hum...tasty and have wok hei...
This Lai Heng used to be from the Lakeview hawker centre, which had since been demolished. Used to eat their char kway teow whenever I am around the area as a little boy. I became a more regular customer when I was in JC, often dropping by after my canoeing training at MacRitchie. Next to the stall were a braised duck rice stall and a dessert stall too, if I recall correctly.
Really, who's the real McCoy? There is also a Lai Heng CKT at the kopitiam above the Buangkok MRT. It has a laminated copy of an old newspaper feature story about Lai Heng. Taste not bad but $4.00 a plate.

No idea on the stall at Buangkok MRT but I distinctly remember that the lady who does the frying at Shunfu is the same lady at the Lakeview stall years ago as I still frequent the stall at Shunfu whenever I am around that area.
