SINGAPORE - The People's Action Party (PAP) has always been on the people's side and it is the very reason for its existence since it was created, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Speaking in Mandarin at PAP's final rally before the polls on Saturday, Mr Lee said that Singapore is facing many challenges but also a new whole full of opportunities.

"So our attitudes, our way of thinking has to change accordingly," he said.

But one thing that has not changed is that PAP has always stood on the side of the people and put them first, he said.

He also said that transport infrastructure and homes need to built faster.

These problems will be fixed gradually, step by step, added Mr Lee.

Mr Lee also said that all the policies the PAP has implemented were done with a view to benefiting the nation.

He also paid tribute to the older generation for their contributions to building the nation and said that the Government will do more to help them.

Boost the HDB resale market to increase the price of new HDB flats;
Invite 1.6 million foreigners into the country to take your jobs, get priority to schools, scholarships, housing etc;
Get you to pay more for degrading MRT and bus services;
Pay more for conservancy charges;
....you get the gist.
