Update: Older man repeatedly stood outside my shower cubicle at the gym
DiscussionTLDR from my first post: I was showering at a gym/members’ club when an older naked man repeatedly lingered outside my shower cubicle and appeared to look in. When I moved to the last cubicle to change, he followed me there too and stood outside again. I felt very uncomfortable and reported it to the gym.
The gym just got back to me recently and said they spoke to him. Their conclusion was that it was a “misunderstanding” and that he had “absolutely no intention” of intruding on my privacy.
But I’m like??, obviously he is going to say it was a misunderstanding right? Who is going to admit “yes I was being creepy in the locker room and showers”? I get that the gym probably cannot prove intent, but the explanation still feels very weak to me.
I replied to the gym saying that from my perspective, it did not feel like a simple misunderstanding, and that I know what I saw and experienced. I also asked for the incident to remain on record, and said that if anything similar happens again, I hope they treat it seriously as a repeat concern. They didn’t reply.
So I don’t really know how to feel or what to do now.
Part of me feels like I should just accept this as closure because at least they spoke to him and reminded him of the rules. But another part of me feels really unsettled because it feels like they just accepted his denial and called it a day. Could I seek some advice on this please?
