How do i convince my platoonmate to shower with soap instead of just rinsing with plain water. He claims that soap contains many chemical and harmful substances and is bad for your skin and we cant seem to convince him otherwise.

He also sleeps quite close to me so the odour emitting from his skin particles is quite outrageous when there is already a chicken shit smell emitting in our camp. How do i solve this problem without escalating it into something big
