Please don't pursue something as impractical as a degree in philosophy. Now that I'm without a job and credentials (granted, I completed 2 internship stints, but the folks in charge didn't give me much to show), I feel like I had completely wasted my university years. Probably should have studied something more useful like Economics. That stupid saying 'follow your passion' only really works if your passion is in something useful to employers; NOT F**KING PHILOSOPHY THAT'S FOR SURE.

Philosophy bakes no bread.....but no bread is baked without philosophy.
Why do you think a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD, Ph.D., or DPhil) is the highest academic degree awarded by universities ?
In fact the most difficult subject to excel in would be Philosophy and a student who can ace philo would be very smart indeed.
There are so many other reasons why the guy cannot get a job eg his 'U', his grades, or his attitude and performance during interviews-and of course the foreigner who stole his lunch, sorry I mean his/her job.
Don't blame Philo-blame the foreigner and the people who let them in.

Write a book.

Yes & the title will be" Wanted to be, but it was not to be". " What is life, I don't know, if I know, would not had studied". " I am nobody's child 2.0". Can ask that question, whom did his parents voted for & he?. he can take up teaching, can't he?

He didn't sound very philosophical about his outlook of life.

I got my degree once I went into adulthood, till now I'm still bachelor....

Well he is certainly being very philosophical about his bleak prospects!

I'm sorry it didn't turn out well for you (yet) but it seems you're confusing an 'impractical' degree with a degree you just didn't enjoy. That being said, this is not good advice.

The whole point of an education is to become a good citizen, not a good employee. A degree should teach you about the world we live in, and philosophy is the basis of that. Anyway, I can only speak for the humanities- I actually moved from Economics (which I hated) to Anthropology, and it was by far the best decision I made.

Also- I got a good job in tech out of it, but that's not why I value my education at all.

We need to be less utilitarian and more holistic in our approach to education.

Lol.... this gong cheebye should have known before he enrolled for a useless shit like Philosophy!

I will rather hire an ITE grad who has some marketable skill than this useless cunt.

this subject can only be taken if you have lots of spare cash and spare time. It is to add to your already impressive resume and impressive bank account.
