i was outside city square that night and was wondering why so many people are there. many people are wearing a uniform t-shirt and written chingay on it.

I was waiting there to check things out but after 15 mins i give up, nothing passing by. there is even a stage for a huge pot for big incense sticks. I see some people holding incense sticks as well.

The road is actually close for this event with police manning the road.

Theirs is a religious procession. Chingay Pride Parade is nothing more than a shameless govt-coordinated show for tourists.
