For possession of a pistol, an unemployed man received
a jail term of 12 years and six months yesterday. He was
also given 17 strokes of the cane.
Low Hua Choon (picture), 41, was found with the pistol
- which contained five rounds of ammunition - on July 27 last year.
He was on a run to sell contraband cigarettes when his
lorry was stopped and searched in Ang Mo Kio. The pistol
was found in the lorry. Drugs and sex tapes he had made
with his girlfriend were also found in the room he was living in.
Low was given the pistol and ammunition in 1998 by a
friend known as Guan Choon. Ong Dai Lin

So he's the fella with a 0.45 caliber pistol who got caught. he's lucky he didn't get the death sentence for that matter.

That's because he didn't used the pistol for 12 years. If he had been caught with the pistol in 1998, it would have been hanging. So that's not luck??
