PAP should tell us if these kids from elite schools have maids, and whether the maids have been tested. :cautious:

Can MOH please provide a latest update on how many confirmed cases are FDWs and also whether there have been surveillance tests done on FDWs? :unsure:

SINGAPORE (THE NEW PAPER) - Only 17 foreign domestic workers (FDWs) here have been confirmed to have Covid-19 so far, and they did not get it from foreign workers.

Most of them were infected by their employers
, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in response to The New Paper's queries on Sunday (April 19).

Among the 17, Cases 102, 104 and 108 were linked to the Wizlearn Technologies cluster.

All three had employers who were either employees of Wizlearn Technologies or were linked to employees.

Another infected FDW was Case 21, a 44-year-old Indonesian. Her employer, Case 19, worked at the Yong Thai Hang health products shop, which was one of the earliest clusters. The cluster has since been closed.

With the number of infections among foreign workers living in dormitories shooting up, there has been speculation that maids may have come into contact with infected foreign workers on their rest days.

A WhatsApp message claimed that the situation could "very quickly spiral out of control" if maids met infected workers and carried the virus back to their employers.

And lying about their boyfriends' existence during contact tracing or suppressing their symptoms to hide their existence. :sneaky:

Since MOH are testing close contacts of foreign workers not living in dorms, they should also test close contacts of unlinked confirmed cases of residents and citizens. And disclose the results in their daily updates. :wink:

Today one case of a 15 year old female Singaporean student which is classified as unlinked. According to MOH, her serological test result has come back positive, which is indicative of a past infection. The epidemiological evidence suggests that she was likely to have been infected during the Circuit Breaker period, and not after school re-opening. This begs the question who infected her during the CB period, since she would have been at home most of the time. :cautious:

This headline and new regulation is very telling. :sneaky:

‘Yet another new regulation’ of setting appointments before remitting money perceived as ‘insensitive’ by netizens

Singapore – Members of the public responded to the recent news that foreign domestic workers (FDWs) must now set an appointment before remitting money at certain areas, saying that suddenly changing regulations was “insensitive.”

Appointments must first be made before FDWs could remit money at Lucky Plaza, City Plaza and Peninsula Plaza, said the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) on Saturday (June 13). The new regulation, which is effective immediately, applies to weekends and public holidays.

Consequently, the Ministry of Manpower released an advisory urging employers to inform their FDWs of the new rule, according to a straitstimes.com report. The announcement noted that “Customers, including FDWs, who wish to remit money should obtain an appointment before leaving the residence to travel to these hot spots.”

PAP technocrats are being pedantic and micromanaging because they failed to manage the unlinked cases and contract tracing process properly. :wink:

This advisory from MOH is very telling. :sneaky:

Advisory - Foreign domestic workers should avoid congregating in big groups on their rest days

Issued on 17 June 2020

  1. As announced by the Ministry of Health on 15 June 2020, Phase Two of the re-opening will start after 18 June 2020, 2359 hours. This advisory outlines appropriate arrangements for foreign domestic workers (FDWs) and will remain in force until withdrawn.

    FDW rest day arrangements
  2. FDWs who wish to spend their rest days outside should seek the consent of their employers to do so on a weekday when public spaces are less crowded. FDWs should also inform their employers of their whereabouts and are strongly encouraged to download and activate the TraceTogether app to facilitate contact tracing.
  3. As with the rest of the community, FDWs who go out on their rest day should:
    • Wear a mask and maintain a safe distance from one another;
    • Observe good personal hygiene and avoid sharing food, drinks and other personal items;
    • Reduce their time spent outside and limit the number of contacts that they meet on their rest day; and
    • Comply with safe distancing measures at malls and public places and must not gather in groups of more than five.
  4. FDWs should not gather or loiter in public spaces or visit crowded places such as City Plaza, Lucky Plaza and Peninsula Plaza. If your FDW wishes to remit money at these places, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has already advised remittance agents that they should schedule appointments with clients. Alternatively, we encourage FDWs to conduct remittance via electronic platforms. MOM will be on the ground carrying out inspections and will disperse large group and outdoor gatherings. FDWs who do not cooperate risk being fined and having their work passes revoked.
  5. As we all adapt to the new normal, it is important to maintain open communication with your FDW and help your FDW understand the above guidelines and requirements. Our community needs to stay disciplined and vigilant and so that all our efforts so far to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are not wasted.

I don't think they even asked the foreign workers, including maids, who their fuck buddies are. :sneaky:

One thing they know and are not saying is their names. I doubt they know who their fuck buddies are.
