Toothless? Come on, just giving some high profile examples; Those Five Stars workers who lost their jobs were helped by Singapore Manual and Mercantile Workers' Union (SMMWU) and the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). Recently, Tower Transit also worked with the National Transport Workers Union (NTWU) to firm up their employees’ benefits.

$600 vouncher? Don't bullshit leh. $600 will be over and gone within a month or within few weeks if the bus driver has mouths to feed. I think WP's proposed unemployment benefits will help a lot this time round.

As for Tower Transit, why can't SBS and SMRT offer the same attractive working benefits? What did the NTWU do for SBS and SMRT bus drivers?

Union is really balless because they can only "encourage" or nudge firms to act in a certain way. That's why they are balless.

NTUC represents sole interests of PAP period!
It wants to give misleading impression that they care and champion workers' welfare, cause BUT they do not. They only want workers' power to flex around in service of their own parochial agenda!!
Scums and crooks in NTUC........ what did they do for workers esp those jobless?
Halimah, Patrick Tay, Heng Chee How, Lim Swee Say, Chan Kee Chui, Nathan, etc...... just used NTUC to advance thei own self inteest!!
