I have only known him to speak English, Chinese, Malay and Hokkien.
Edited.By PSLE standard and above, LKY can only speak English and Malay.
Don't joke about him speaking Mandarin Chinese or Hokkien or even Hakka.
Forgot about that. Thanks, edited.huh!! you didn't know he is a Japanese language translator?

No wonder he kept promoting English with many campaigns and banned shows with dialects. You have got to be joking!
He's born Peranakan, knows shit about Chinese culture and customs and dialects, only learning enough to give people impressions that he knows China's 3000 year history and tradition, and speak gross Hokkien, zilch hakka/cantonese/teochew. He grew up in an Malay-Indonesian-English environment --perfect example of the banana Chink!

And ironically, now he wants Singaporean Chinese to speak more Chinese and feel proud of our culture.LKY hated everything Chinese. last time 1950s election rallies, peoples laughed at his awful hokkien / openly ridiculed him from below stage. He mentioned those rallies shame in ST interviews and his books. think he remembered his humiliations and took revenge by destroying SG Chinese culture for personal and political purposes.
And ironically, now he wants Singaporean Chinese to speak more Chinese and feel proud of our culture.
It is akin to Adolf Hitler telling the Germans to embrace and love the Jews.

The city of Palembang is proud of its best known son which is LKY. He was born there and family migrated over to Singapore. I always felt its more than just coincidence that our flags are the same colors as Indonesia.
I didn't know he speaks hakka.
I have only known him to speak English, sub-standard Chinese, Malay and unpolished Hokkien.
And maybe simple Japanese.
