Not Telling the Truth doesn't necessarily imply Lying. Reporters have to differentiate that properly. If you don't even know the truth in the first place, how can you lie?

Apparently Sylvia Lim also fails her logic...
First, she keeps asking NEA to show when did AHTC employees ask hawkers to pay extra...then she acknowledged that WP MP has written to AHTC for the case of hawkers being asked to pay extra... But wait, the hawkers' letter to WP MP has already stated very clearly it was AHTC's employee, property manager Mr Tai who asks them to pay extra! Epidemic lah! A lawyer like her cannot figure out the irony and contradictions here?

If you have a contractor to service your client, you paid everything but later you find out your contractor asked your client to pay extra, put up another quotation for something which is actually included in your contract, what would you do?
A person with integrity would have scolded the contractor for corrupt practices, ban the contractor for future work.

It is totally wrong for WP and AHTC to disclaim any responsibility from their contractor who tried to double charged the hawkers! They should have fired their contractor straight away for such dishonest act! This contractor is employed under AHTC to do the work and AHTC will have the assumed responsibility of its conduct and work ethics.
"NEA should know that ATL is an independent commercial company free to provide quotations to any party that requests it. It was the Market Association of Blk 538 Market that requested the quotation, as confirmed by ATL’s media release on 6 June 2013. Attributing the quotation to AHPETC is misleading and politically motivated to tarnish the reputation of AHPETC."

So this is the "confusing" email quoted... no where in the correspondence states that the hawkers will pay for the scaffolding... and it is strange that AHTC would not feel something is wrong as the scaffolding is supposedly provided by its own contractor....

These letters prove one simple thing, the hawkers are consistent in their claim that they were told that the contractor will not clean above 2.5m and they were given a quotation for HIGH RISE CLEANING, not only for scaffolding. They have made complaint to their WP MP, their MP wrote to AHPeTC.
The point to note is that if AHPeTC acknowledges that it is their duty and obligation to pay for everything in the cleaning, why would they expect the hawkers to pay? WP and AHTC don't sound consistent at all, but the hawkers sound perfectly consistent. They were told that they need to pay for cleaning above 2.5m and thus, given a quotation for high rise cleaning. So now we have something very clear from the latest evidence put up. The Hawkers were misled and told by AHTC staff Mr Tai that they need to pay extra to contractor for High Rise Cleaning, so they ask how much? The ATL, although knowing that it is their contractual obligation to clean the ceiling without further charges, happily quoted the hawkers $7200, NOT ONLY for the scaffolding but the whole package of High Rise Cleaning as well.
So whose fault? The AHTC's staff Mr Tai's and ATL's fault lah! Very simple and straight forward!

It means that hawkers are telling the truth that the contractor didn't want to clean anything above 2.5m without additional charges.
If this is included in AHPeTC's contract to ATL, why did ATL put up such quotation to hawkers for extra cost? The mystery reveals itself....

You may disagree with GMS, but perhaps I could draw your attention to Leong Sze Hian. Mr Leong critique AIMs saga, and analyse the flaw. Do you notice he remained silent throughout the AHPETC vs. NEA saga? Isn’t Mr Leong’s silence curious?
Mr Leong is certainly qualify to defend WP in such accounting and financial matter, yet he remained silence and choose not to defend WP.
We all like to give support to WP, but bear in mind, WP may not be 100% saint. WP may make error too, if we let our blind fondness blind our eye, it can be dangerous…… Our parents were blindly supporting PAP, and you know the consequence. Take a leave from Taiwan, the people supported Chen Sui Bian, almost idolsing him, and the outcome is well known.
Remeber when Yaw SL sage first come out, every protect Yaw,merely because he is a WP MP, and the outcome is well known too.
The least we need, post-PAP, is daft Singaporeans blindly supporting yet another party again.
