Singaporeans keep complaining we import too much forigners!Ok, let's say you are the leader of Singapore. What will you do or think of a good plan to increase our Singapore birth rate then to import all the forigners???Let's see if we can beat those Men In White to solve this tricky problem facing Singapore!

I start first. If i am the government, i will form a small committe and find out what is the problem for our locals not giving enough birth. And what is the cause for so many singles still not married?Only by getting to the root of the problem can the real problem be solve.By importing foriengers, yes it can solve the problem but only for a short while.

Example, my house members one by one move out of the house. No one is staying or want to give birth here but rather find some place to give birth and settle down.To keep the house with more people, i rent out the rooms to outsiders and hopefully they will find this place a home to be call and settle down. But one by one they keep moving out. Why?Because i have a super dirty house! The root of the cause found and solve it!
The root of the problem must be solve if not, even if importing millions of them here will not solve the problem.Unless our goverment dont treat our country with pride but think of it as a hotel!

Start a Campaign on Marriage, Parenting.(Commercial/news/ad about Love, Having a Family, Cute babies)
More incentives for parents when their child is born etc. more baby bonus, longer maternity leave
Cheaper Housing.
Nationwide Match-making program.
Control the hours employee works.(Worker's Right) Clearly there is no Work/life balance..Everyone is working long hours and have no time to go out, enjoy life and basically live a life.
Controlling the foreign in-flux and stressing everyone out which leads to.. Less space, less life, stress-out employees and angry People who is trying to find an escape instead of thinking of settling down.

Singapore is like a 24/7 factory... Everyone walks too fast, Too fast paced, Too more competition and There is this constant buzzing/street noise in your ear even at 3am. Its a psychology thing.

Good one here. But i suddenly think of something. If i can make sure the children can have free education, free medical care..., free medical health care for those with families, a fexible cpf take out plan for those with more children....
maybe it will help alot.good plan here...

Chinese and Indian fertility rate in Singapore = around 1.1
Malay fertility rate in Singapore = around 1.9

It will be almost impossible to change the mindset of the chinese and indians with regards to lifestyle and giving birth.
The same low fertility rate is also reflected in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong etc. With the increasing cost of living, it is going to get worse.

China/India are not developed country and many still have Rural thinking.. Rural thinking is... Marriage is the most Important thing and many spend their entire child-hood being drilled that It is "Compulsory" to get married at a certain age.. Their parents automatically would start looking for partners by the time they get to 18yrs old.

Plus what you have mention, Would change the lifes of many Singaporeans.. Stressing them out less.

The problem here in Singapore is Stress-out living.. Stress because of Money and Space.

For the Chinese community, it was 1.02 in 2010, down from 1.14 in 2008 and 1.08 in 2009.

For the Malay community, it was 1.65 last year, down from 1.91 in 2008 and 1.82 in 2009.

The Indian community, too, has been facing declining fertility rates: 1.19 in 2008, 1.14 in 2009 and at 1.13 last year.

Increase the pay for the lower income groups..

Increase the baby bonus payments..

Make a campaign to urge all true blue Sporeans to marry before the age of 32.

Organise a mass wedding ceremony for couple who have difficulity in their finances.. All wedding expenses borne by the Govt.. Honeymoons to short distance places like Malaysia being paid by the Govt.. Implement a ballot system.. Lucky couple will be entitled to all these freebies if they are selected..

Free education for all children of Spore.. Govt to pay for the tertiary education..

Free hospital expenses when the spouse went to labour.. Privilege is for the first born kid right up till the couple's 3rd children..

I know all these freebies cost alot of money... But our Govt is very rich.. They can well afford all these perks for Sporeans.. Its an investments for the Future.. Rather than splurging the money all on stupid overseas investments that resulted in a lot of loss, why not invest these money on true blue Sporeans..???

Whats are asians doing wrong? What about NZ, OZ, Canana and USA?

I guess it is the unbridled lust for materialism and comfortable living amongst Asians.
Many of my friends have said this to me "Having one more child is equivalent to having to extend retirement age many years later and working harder too"

The Malays have made 'tight-budget-living' into an art-form. Or maybe they don't think too much about the future nor do they plan.
Going forward, it is going to get harder and harder for them and everyone else too as living costs go up, e.g. school fees (nursery, kindergarten, ......especially tertiary) and transportation. Thus, having more children is going to add tremendous pressure.

NZ, OZ and Canada are countries with huge amount of natural resources. Nothing much to worry about. They can continue their laid-back lifestyles and have as many kids as they wish.
USA is a goner.

i would try to screw all the girls that i can. Do them raw ....that would probably increase the birth rate. Probably kena voted out later but by then i reckon i would have contributed towards the upswing in the birth rate. :p

ya mostly by borrowing from relatives, friends and colleagues and not repaying.
