No, I am not deaf, I am Mr Practical.

Yesterday as part of job rotation to understand the work fo other departments, I was assigned to front desk of a bank to serve the start of six weeks stint

I am like a fish out of the water. I have no idea what to do with all this people complaining left right and centre

I am sure they have a good reason to be so angry. But I am practical. I am not there to solve their problems, so I patiently ask them to wait until my colleague can serve them. The longer they wait the louder they complain. I don't blame them but really I am ther only six weeks, so I said to them please wait, my colleague so-and-so will attend to you shortly

After two hours of the same, I suddenly found that I can see their lips moving but I can't hear a thing, yet I can hear my colleague SMS me for tea break.

Heng ah, only attachment not permanent posting. Front-desk of bank must be one of the worst jobs in the world. Every other person is complaining

will your bank arm you with knuckle dusters when a bank run occurs?

You now understand that normal banks can be a bureaucracy that ultimately, everyone there is a salaried person. Big pay checks reflect little on working ability or worth. Canon fodder is the word.
